...Heavy snow continues to overspread the Midwest and Great
Lakes...

Winter Weather Advisories extend from the Midwest into the
Northeast.

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect across the Midwest, Great
Lakes, and portions of northern New York and Maine.

Ice Storm Warning is in effect for portions of northwest Ohio.

At 200 PM CST...Radar and surface observations have shown the
progression of moderate to heavy snow bands moving southwest to
northeast from Iowa to Michigan. Further south, areas of southern
Illinois and Indiana are seeing mixed precipitation where
temperatures are hovering closer to the freezing line. At the
surface, a strong Arctic high pressure is located over the
Dakotas, funneling extremely cold air into the region.

Snow will begin to exit the Midwest later this evening while
continuing over the Great Lakes and spreading gradually into the
Northeast. Additional snowfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are
expected over portions of the Middwest and Great Lakes through
tonight, with snowfall acccumulations across the Northeast of as
much as 4 to 8 inches through Thursday. The evening rush hour for
locations such as Milwaukee, Chicago, Grand Rapids and Detroit
among other locations will be impacted by potentially heavy snow
and poor visibility. Additionally, freezing rain is expected over
portions of the Ohio Valley, Central Appalachians and the interior
of the Northeast tonight into Thursday before ending. Locally as
much as 0.10 to 0.30 inches of ice accumulation can be expected
going through Thursday. Slippery road conditions, power outages,
and tree damage are likely.
