Winter Storm Warnings are in effect across the Central Plains and
Midwest.

Winter Weather Advisories extend from the southern High Plains
into the Upper Midwest.

At 200 AM CST...Radar and surface observations highlighted a
developing band of moderate to heavy snowfall, sleet, and freezing
rain extending from the southern High Plains into the Upper
Midwest, downwind of a stationary front analyzed in the lee of the
Rockies.

Snow will spread from the Central Plains into the Great Lakes
today, leading to additional snowfall amounts of 4-6" through
Friday morning. Heavier snow rates should develop in time today
for the evening rush hour in Milwaukee, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and
Detroit, among other locations. Plan ahead if you are commuting.
South of the snow line, freezing rain is expected over portions of
the Ozarks into the Ohio Valley, leading to ice accumulations
upwards of 0.10-0.25" through Friday morning.
