The low pressure system responsible for the impactful variety of
mixed winter precipitation will track east across the Ohio Valley,
Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast today into tonight before exiting the
East Coast by Sunday morning. A swath of moderate to heavy snow
will translate eastward across the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and
Northeast through Sunday morning. Overall, 4 to 8 inches of snow
will accumulate from parts of Wisconsin to Michigan, with 6 to 12
inches expected from New York to New England. Locally higher
amounts are possible, particularly within the higher elevations
and downwind of Lake Ontario. Farther south, snow will transition
to an icy mix of sleet and freezing rain from parts of the Ohio
Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Areas affected by heavy snow or ice
can expect hazardous travel conditions through the weekend.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
