The low pressure system will track east across the Rockies today,
and heavy mountain snow will create treacherous travel conditions
over mountain passes and at higher elevations. The storm will then
track east through the Plains and Midwest with a swath of heavy
snow expected from the Dakotas to the Great Lakes on Saturday.
Late Saturday in Sunday, the storm system will move towards the
East Coast and produce icy mixed precipitation in the Mid-Atlantic
and heavy snow in the Northeast. Areas affected by heavy snow or
ice may experience hazardous travel conditions through the weekend.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 800 PM MST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
