Moderate to heavy rain and mountain snowfall will continue through
Wednesday as an atmospheric river and low pressure waves along a
frontal boundary slowly sags southward in northern California,
leading to additional precipitation amounts of 2-4" and 7-10" atop
the California Coastal Range and northern Sierra Nevada,
respectively. Scattered flooding, mudslides, and debris flows
remain possible through Wednesday morning across north-central
California. Additionally, there will be some winter weather
impacts in the Sierra Nevada, southern Oregon, and the northern
Rockies as another low pressure wave and plume of moisture move
along the frontal boundary Tuesday. Some snow in the northern
Rockies and Cascades across the Pacific Northwest could be locally
heavy and make for difficult traveling conditions into middle
week.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 AM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
