The offshore low pressure system will quickly move up the East
Coast and into Atlantic Canada tonight into Monday. Snow will
continue to fall across portions of New England and the Northeast
tonight before ending by Monday morning. In the storm's wake,
bitterly cold Arctic air will grip the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast
through the first half of the week with high temperatures only in
the single digits and teens. Combined with gusty winds, wind
chills will frequently dip below zero. The northwesterly winds
will also produce additional snow showers for the typical upslope
regions of the Appalachians and downwind of the Great Lakes.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 AM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
