Plains and Upper Midwest ..
Blizzard Warnings are active across Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and
southern Minnesota.
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
for Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
High Wind Warnings are active for the Plains, and Wind Advisories
are in effect across the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys.

At 1000 AM EDT...Mosaic radar and surface observations show a deep
area of low pressure, 986 mb (29.11 in Hg), spinning across the
Midwest. Heavy snow and strong wind gusts of 40-70 mph are
producing blizzard conditions across Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and
parts of southern Minnesota. Thunderstorms were forming in the
warm sector of the system across Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois.

The storm system will continue tracking northeast across the upper
Midwest and head toward the Great Lakes region by early Thursday.
Blizzard conditions will continue across the Midwest through
Thursday morning. Areas that are affected by the storm can expect
whiteout conditions, power outages, wind gusts in the 50-70 mph
range, and isolated local snowfall accumulations near 12 inches.
