While the main low pressure system exits northward into Canada,
another significant wave of low pressure will continue to develop
and strengthen across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys tonight into
Sunday. This wave of low pressure will continue to support ongoing
widespread moderate to heavy rain with embedded strong to severe
thunderstorms. The heavy rain is expected to cause additional
instances of flash flooding across the Tennessee and Ohio Valley
through the overnight hours, some of which could be significant.
The severe weather and flash flood threats will gradually decrease
towards daybreak Sunday as the frontal system pushes marches
eastward, but scattered severe thunderstorms and isolated
instances of flash flooding will still be possible across portions
of the Eastern Seaboard to round out the weekend.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 AM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
