Lake effect snow is forecast to continue across portions of the
Great Lakes this morning before gradually waning this afternoon
into tonight as high pressure approaches the region. While lake
effect snow may still persist beyond today, favored locations will
be on the northeastern sides of the lakes given winds becoming
southwesterly. Fortunately, this configuration would likely avoid
the hardest hit places on the southeastern sides of the Great
Lakes. Travel conditions will slowly improve but may still be
hazardous in locations that received multiple feet of snow over
the past several days.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 PM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
