the region....

northeastern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania, western and northern
New York.

At 900 AM EST...Multiple surface troughs and a weak area of low
pressure over southern Ontario, embedded in a longwave trough
pattern over the U.S. east coast, are helping to facilitate
moderate westerly winds across the Great Lakes Region, drawing
Arctic air over the warmer lake waters, and leading to intense
bands of lake effect snow. National Weather Service Doppler Radar
shows these lake effect snow bands affecting the Upper Peninsula
of Michigan, from the influence of Lake Superior and Michigan,
northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, and southern New York from the
influence of Lake Erie, and additional heavy bands of snow across
upstate New York along Lake Ontario.

steady winds persist over the warmer lake waters into Tuesday.
Impacted areas include the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, peninsula
of Michigan, northeastern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania, and
western and upstate New York. These intense bands will result in
deep and drifting snow, likely measured in several feet in the
