...Heavy lake effect snow forecast through Monday...

Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect for portions of western
and northern New York, northwestern Pennsylvania, and northeastern
Ohio.

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
for portions of Michigan and far northern Wisconsin.

At 900 PM EST...Low pressure was situated north of the Great Lakes
in Canada while a high pressure ridge was positioned to the west
over the northern Plains. This pattern resulted in a tight
pressure gradient and strong northwesterly to westerly winds
across the Great Lakes Region. National Weather Service Doppler
Radar indicated lake effect snow occurring south and east of all
of the Great Lakes.

Heavy lake effect snow is forecast to continue through Monday and
will result in deep and drifting snow in the hardest hit areas.
Travel will be extremely difficult and hazardous this weekend,
especially in areas where multiple feet of snow may accumulate
very quickly.
