Widespread heavy rainfall across portions of northern California
and far southwest Oregon will result in life-threatening flooding,
rock slides, and debris flows through Friday. Storm total rainfall
of 12 to 16 inches is expected. In addition to the heavy rainfall,
another round of heavy mountain snow is likely for the Washington
Cascades and northern Rockies Friday into Saturday, and the
central Sierra Nevada Friday night into Saturday. Several
additional inches of snow are likely, primarily in elevations
above 7500 feet. Strong winds capable of producing downed trees
and power lines will also continue across portions of northwest
California and southwest Oregon through tonight.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 AM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
