Mexico.

At 700 AM MST...A 1009mb surface low is situated along a cold
front in north-central Texas. This surface low is paired with an
anomalously strong upper low over the Southwest, and deep layered
ascent to the east of the upper low over much of northern New
Mexico and eastern Colorado. This is leading to widespread
moderate to heavy snow across much of these areas. The latest
local radar imagery depicts the heaviest snow currently over
southeastern and eastern Colorado and generally lighter snow
across northern and northeastern New Mexico.

The winter storm is expected to persist today and continue into
Saturday. The intensity of snowfall should increase Friday from
northern New Mexico to central Colorado as the surface low
strengthens and moves northward along the front in Texas. Blizzard
Warnings are in effect across the northeast portion of New Mexico,
including the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Expect winds of 35
mph and heavy snow to reduce visibility. Elsewhere, travel
conditions will also be dangerous through the day Friday from
northeast New Mexico to southern Colorado. Snowfall accumulations
may exceed 4 feet. As the surface low moves northeast away from
the region, the snow should end from south to north with snow
tapering off in New Mexico Friday night and Saturday in Colorado.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 800 PM MST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
