northward to the North Carolina Outer Banks

A Flash Flood Watch is active over portions of North Carolina and
South Carolina

At 1000 AM EDT...At 9 A.M. CDT,...Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight
is moving northwest and nearing the South Carolina coastline.
Heavy to moderate rain bands are impacting northern South Carolina
and southern North Carolina coastlines with some accompanied gusty
wind reports in the 50 mile per hour range.

The flooding threat is expected to expand northwestward toward
interior areas of the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic as the center
of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight moves inland. The Weather
Prediction Center rainfall statement has accumulations of 8-12
inches possible near the coastal plains of the Carolinas and over
4 inches in areas west of the coastal plain.The circulation is
forecast to be over central South Carolina Tuesday and North
Carolina by Wednesday with possible rain impacts extending away
from the circulation into the Mid-Atlanitc. Please refer to
