Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
358 AM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Valid 00Z Sat 12 Apr 2025 - 00Z Sat 19 Apr 2025

Surface high pressure north of Hawaii will promote breezy
easterly trades that should continue through the weekend and into
early next week. Periods of transient above normal moisture levels
will keep this a showery pattern especially Friday-Saturday, with
the showers favoring windward and mauka areas.

High pressure is forecast to weaken and pull away Tuesday and
beyond, while a trough aloft approaches. The trades are likely to
at least weaken somewhat, but with uncertainty in how much the
winds could veer and weaken in response to a cold front northwest
of Hawaii. This front may draw moisture northward and increase
shower coverage by late next week, especially over the
northwestern islands, but will continue to monitor as this
forecast remains uncertain.
